Abstract

In this study, ferritin levels were determined among different age groups of pregnant women Al-Bayda city, eastern Libya. Where the average age ranged from 18 to 45 years and in a period of twelve Months from the first of February 2020 to June 2021. The reliable serum ferritin level was measured by using an enzyme immunoassay ELASA method using of serum sample. Through this study, it was found that most of the age groups suffer from a deficiency of ferritin level from 18 to 24 years, where the average ferritin level was 7.78 ng/ml, which was less than the normal range of 15-150 ng/ml. The average level for the age group from 25 to 30 years was 14.26 ng/m, while the age group between 31 to 35 years was 19.59 ng/ml. The average rate of ferritin for the age group between 36 to 40 years was 19.13ng/ml and the age group between 41 to 45 years was 22.79ng/mL. The study showed that the age groups of pregnant women who are less than 25 years old are more susceptible to ferritin and iron deficiency than the normal range.
