Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the application-water uniformity by Komet 140 plus sprinkler, running on traveler irrigation system, simulated by the computer application TraveGun, for several conditions of wind, spacing and wetted sector, and analyze the efficiency of the software to estimate the water depth distribution applied by sprinkler. The software was calibrated based on the radial distribution of water stationary obtained from wind speeds equal to 1.1, 1.66 and 2.4 m s -1 . Simulations were performed with different spacing, wetted sector and speed and direction of wind. The largest uniformity distribution of water was obtained with spacing ranging from 66 to 76% of the radius wet by sprinkler. In condition of no wind the wetted sector of 240º presented more uniformity of water distribution. In strong wind condition (5 m s -1 ), the uniformity of distribution was not much affected by variations in the weteed sector
