Abstract

The aim of the study has been to investigate selected factors determining the professional satisfaction of Polish nurses. The examined group consisted of 1066 professionally active Polish nurses. The study was conducted with the use of diagnostic survey method, where a standardized questionnaire survey was used as the main tool. The group of factors classified as elements of employee evaluation systems, penalties and wages is the fourth among five groups of factors determining the professional satisfaction of Polish nurses, as included in the occupational satisfaction model adopted in the study. Respondents think that the most influential factor in this group is “remuneration”. It also ranks third, in the opinion of the respondents, among all the elements included in the model. The results show that in the group of Polish nurses, the factors that are characterized as actual motivators significantly influence the level of job satisfaction. Therefore, they should be used in daily management practice in nursing teams, especially in the process of skilful motivation and employee engagement.
