Abstract

Poverty is one of the problems faced by countries in the world, including Indonesia and this problem does not only occur at the national level but also at the regional level. Riau is an area that has a good level of an economy, but if you look at the number of poor people it still tends to be high and the rate of decline in the number of poor people tends to slow from year to year. To find out what factors can reduce poverty in Riau, this study uses three variables, namely economic growth, HDI and the open unemployment rate, and the 2017 - 2019 time period. The analysis used is panel regression analysis. Of the three variables, only HDI significantly affects poverty at a level of 5 percent.
