Abstract

Serum tryptase determination is usually performed in mastocytosis, as in most cases it can predict mast-cell burden and/or mast-cell activation. Tryptase values in blister fluids are correlated with dermal mast-cell numbers and local mast-cell activation. The aim of this report is to describe the usefulness of tryptase determination in blister fluid as a marker of mast-cells mediators release in diffuse erythrodermic cutaneous mastocytosis.
