Abstract
Question: A 73-year-old Australian man of Indian background presented with a 6-month history of worsening steatorrhea, malodorous flatulence and weight loss of 15 kg (body mass index 18 kg/m2). He had a 20-year history of celiac disease treated with a strict gluten-free diet with good clinical and histologic response. He also had hypertension previously treated with candesartan, which had been ceased years before the onset of these symptoms. He was on no medications, was a nonsmoker, and did not consume alcohol.
