Abstract

In this paper, we report an antenna-based detection of an electric signal mixed with a 1-GHz carrier transmitted through an optical channel. The optical system has a microwave band-pass window obtained by interaction of dispersion effects of the frequency responses of an optical fiber channel. The sensed and mixed electric signals are driven to a Mach-Zehnder modulator for transmission through a microwave band-pass window in the optical channel. In other potential applications, like telecommunications, band-pass transmission windows can be used for multiplexing two microwave signals
