Abstract

Abstract Swabs of acetone-soluble cellulose acetate were used to obtain fragments of tissue in cases of urethral carcinoma. The histological appearances of tissue obtained in this way were comparable with those following biopsy and orthodox histology. The method is relatively automatic and appears to be valuable in the diagnosis of carcinoma of the urethra.
