Abstract

ABSTRACTTomato spotted wilt virus (TSWV) is one of the economically important tobacco viruses in Bulgaria. Creation of resistant tobacco lines by the methods of genetic engineering is of great importance. Some of the TSWV infected plant regenerants do not show symptoms on the systemically grown up leaves. The application of a sensitive method for the virus diagnostics as ELISA helps the selection of perspective tobacco forms. The comparative testing of DAS—ELISA and of some indirect procedures showed the advantages of the first variant for TSWV detection when a minimum quantity of the virus—1 to 10 ng/ml is to be determined.
