Abstract

New far infrared laser magnetic resonance spectra have been detected at 11 laser wavelengths using the reaction of fluorine atoms with NH2OH as source. Weaker but identical spectra were found in the reaction NH2+O3. On the basis of their chemical behavior and hyperfine structure they are assigned to the NH2O radical. Rotational transitions calculated using a planar symmetric structure from ab initio calculations are in good agreement with the frequencies of the observed LMR spectra.
