Abstract

Salmonella typhi is a gram- negative bacterium, it is causes disease called typhoid fever. House flies are play important role in transmission of Salmonella. This study aimed to detect Salmonella typhi transmitted by house flies in patient's blood in Al-Diwaniyah province of Iraq. This study was collected 30 blood samples from patient's in Al-Diwaniyah teaching hospital from November 2021 until to end March 2022 from both sexes (17 males and 13 females) and age groups ranged between (10-50) years. The results of study revealed that high prevalence of disease in males 17(56.66%), but revealed low prevalence of disease in females13(43.33%). According to age groups the result was recorded high incidence of disease in age group (10-20) (40%), while it was recorded low incidence of disease in age group (40-50) (10%). In current study, 10 serum samples out of 30 samples were detected 6(60%) positive samples for IgM, whereas 4(40%) positive samples for IgG in rapid test of Salmonella typhi.
