Abstract

s / Journal of Clinical Virology 70 (2015) S1–S126 S33 1Norovirus-II-positive stool (CtrBiopharm[33]). FilmArray® reproducibility was determined by 19 tests (6 stools – 3 or 4 essays per stool) and exhibited 100% of concordance between each passage. Filmarray® demonstrated a TAT of 1.25h versus a median time of 29.1h with usual routine diagnostic tests. Conclusion: Discordances between our routine test and the FilmArray® can be explained by the detection of Adenoviruses and Rotavirus limited to subtype 40/41 and type A, respectively. The distinction of Norovirus type need also to be discussed as it has not been included in the FilmArray® test. The detection of Sapovirus was added to the catalog proposed by r-Biopharm® so that better evaluation will be done with more ease in the future, as all viruses are present in both diagnostic panels. With a decreased hands-ontime and an improved time to results, FilmArray® tests can respond rapidly to the physicians’ question regardless of their pathogens orientation. This syndromic approach could be useful in case of emergency diagnosis. http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/j.jcv.2015.07.081
