Abstract

Virulence on the Pa9 and Triumph resistance genes in barley was detected, for the first time, in an Australian isolate of Puccinia hordei (collected at Cressy, Tasmania in January 1991). Seedlings of every Australian commercial barley cultivar tested were susceptible to this isolate, including the Triumph-derived cultivars Franklin and Tallon.
