Abstract

Objective To explore the relationship between plasminogen activator inhibitor-1gene 675 4G/5 G polymorphism and ischemic cerebrovascular disease. Methods The polymorphism of PAI-1675 4G/5G of 280 patients with ischemic eerebrovascular disease(case group)and 287 healthy subjects(control group)was detected using ASP.Results In case group, the frequencies of PAI-1675 4G/4G,4G/5G,5G/5G genotypes were 24.3%,47.9%,27.9%,and 4G and 5G allele frequencies were 48.2%and 51.8%.In the control group, the frequencies of PAI-1 675 4G/4G,4G/5G,5G/5Ggenotypes were 22.3%,48.1%和29.6%.and 4G and 5G allele frequencies were 46.3%and 53.7%.There were no significant differences in the frequencies of genotypes or alleles between the two groups (P>0.05).Conclusions PAI-1 gene 675 4G/5 G polymorphism may not be an independent risk factor for ischemic cerebrovascular disease in Henan Han population. Key words: Ischemic cerebrovascular disease; Plasminogen activator inhibitor-1; Polymorphism; Henan province; Han population
