Detection of intermediate products of gas-phase reactions by mass spectrometry

Abstract

1. On the basis of single-field mass spectrometers MKh-7301 and MKh-7303, a mass spectrometer unit has been developed for the detection of intermediate products of thermal and thermal catalytic reactions with a range of masses extended to 500 amu and an improved resolving power. 2. By means of this unit, conditions have been determined for the selective formation, in the gas phase of highly reactive intermediate species -the silicon and germanium analogs of dibromocarbene.
