Abstract
Inhibin and activin are gonadal hormones produced in human ovaries. They are known to act on anterior pituitary cells to regulate the synthesis and secretion of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH). The purpose of the present study was to determine the localization of inhibin and activin subunits α and βA as endocrine markers in the human normal pituitary gland and pituitary adenomas, using immunohistochemistry andin situ hybridization (ISH) methods.
