Abstract

A spectroscopic method for the detection of the fast group of electrons in weak ionized low pressure hydrogen plasmas, from the ratio of the intensity H2 Fulcher α(d3Πu−a3Σg) system and Hα spectral lines was proposed. An influence of the electron energy distribution functions with different electron groups to the intensity of the molecular and atomic hydrogen spectral lines were analyzed. The calibration curve of this ratio IH2/IHα was done for different electron temperatures Te, i.e., for different Maxwellian electron energy distribution functions. Groups of fast electrons were added to Maxwellian distribution function according to the experimental results. Their influence on the ratio IH2/IHα was analyzed as well. A great sensitivity of this ratio was found by adding a small group of super‐fast electrons to the EEDF. This fact provides a possibility to detect the super fast electrons with this method. To verify the method a complementary probe measurements are needed.
