Abstract

Recent trends in the semiconductor and microwave industries has enabled the development of scalable micro-fabrication technology which produces superior performance results to its counter parts. Surface plasma resonance (SPR) biosensors are optical sensors exploiting special electromagnetic waves, and interaction between a sample solution and bimolecular recognition element immobilized on the SPR sensor surface. A painless non-invasive technique has been developed by using tears as a bio-analyte, SPR is a label free mechanism where target molecule are not labelled or altered and can be detected in their natural form. Label-free detection mechanisms measure refractive index (RI) change induced by molecular interactions, which is related to the sample concentration or surface density, instead of total sample mass. After simulation it has been observed that the result obtained is highly accurate and the sensitive. The structure used here is SPR sensor based on channel waveguide. Tools used for simulation RSOFT FULLWAVE, MEEP, and MATLAB.
