Abstract

Glacial landforms are often characterised by strong lineations parallel to the direction of flow. This paper shows that two-dimensional spectral analysis is a powerful technique for calculating objective estimates of the orientation and scale of geological lineations. Examples are provided of analyses of digitised images obtained from aerial photographs of glaciated terrain in northern Canada.
