Abstract

Many imaging techniques are being used for cancer scanning, staging and follow-up. Currently, PET-CT has growing popularity in staging and follow-up of most of the cancers. Secondary cancers can be incidentally detected during PET-CT evaluations. Benign findings like adenoma, fibroglandular tissue, sarcoidosis or inflammatory focus as well as a new primary cancer can be obtained by PET-CT. This case report presents detection of synchronous colon cancer in a patient with breast cancer who was referred for initial staging by PET-CT. By this way, the cancer type more effective on the survival could be treated at early stage.
