Abstract

Sera of 256 randomly selected cattle from settled and nomadic herds in southwestern Nigeria were tested for anaplasmosis using the capillary tube agglutination test. With a prepared antigen, 165 sera (38.21%) of these animals were positive to the test. The simplicity and specificity of this test and the speed of performance especially in the field diagnosis are discussed.
