Abstract
Test-tube and spot reaction procedure are presented for the detection ofα-amino alcohols and aliphatic 1,2-diamino compounds. The test is dependent on the reduction of periodate in sulfuric acid medium, followed by the precipitation of silver iodate in nitric acid solution.
