Abstract

CT scanners provide an accurate high resolution assessment of airway- and lung diseases. New post processing techniques contribute to quantitative assessment of lung volumes, airway dimensions and extent of lung disease. The ability to seperate airway predominant from parenchymal--predominant pathology in COPD may in the future prove usefull in applying specific therapies and monitoring them.
