Abstract

In the process of drilling oil and gas wells containing sulfide, it is very important to ensure the safe drilling of oil and gas wells containing sulfide that how to effectively detect the change of sulfide scavenger content and maintain the effective concentration of sulfide scavenger in drilling fluid. In view of the above problems, based on the linear action relationship between sulfide reaction reagent and zinc based sulfide scavenger and adopting the indirect method, a method for detecting the effective content of sulfide scavenger in drilling fluid was developed by establishing the relationship between the dosage of sulfide scavenger and the consumption rate of sulfide reaction reagent and titrating the consumption rate of sulfide reaction reagent in drilling fluid. The accuracy of the method is verified and the results show that the detection method can effectively detect the content of sulfide scavenger in drilling fluid, and the absolute value of the relative error of the measurement results is less than 5%. Meanwhile, during field application, the detection method can effectively detect the change of sulfide scavenger content in drilling fluid to timely and effectively maintain the effective concentration of sulfide scavenger in drilling fluid and avoid lack of human experience. The research results show that the detection method can meet the requirements of field engineering application, effectively guarantee the safe drilling of sulfide-containing well section, and avoid the waste of resources caused by excessive dosage of sulfide scavenger.
