Abstract

Detection Method of Human Three-Dimensional Body Center of Gravity Based on Inclinometer Network

Highlights

  • The center of gravity (COG) is an imaginary point where the total body gravity is concentrated

  • To prove the stability and precision of the inclinometer measurement system, the study compared the results from three aspects: extreme value, distribution trajectory, and root-meansquare error (RMS)

  • We proposed a method of detecting the 3D COG based on the Songjing model and involved the construction of the system

Sensors and Materials, Vol 29, No 7 (2017) It regards the structure of the body as a set of rigid bodies, and their positions in time and space are detected using a motion capture system. The Songjing model provides inertial parameters of the body segments, and R. Tisserand suggested that the estimation of COM with 13 markers is very close to estimations based on 38 markers.[3,4] on the basis of this model, the position of the COG can be calculated as the centroid of a multisegment system. The starting point of this study is to provide a useful and simple tool for COG estimation based on an inclinometer network
