Abstract

In this paper, a new algorithm is devised to show how a complete electromagnetic vector sensor (EMVS) system enables handling the target detection and localization problem in interference-dominant scenarios. Specifically, our recently proposed sliding beamforming technique is first applied to EMVS systems to suppress the interference signal and reconstruct the EMVS steering vector (SV) of the target signal. Then, the strategy for the detection and localization of target signals is introduced in detail. Afterward, various numerical simulations are carried out to show the simplicity and efficacy of the proposed algorithm. Finally, an example of applying the proposed algorithm to radar detection and estimation is provided.
