Abstract

Theoretical expressions for the discharge rates of multicomponent gas mixtures through a de Laval nozzle from a closed chamber containing an adsorbent bed are calculated by using an extension of earlier studies on one‐component systems. Representative experimental measurements on two‐component systems have been interpreted on the assumption that one of the constituents is not adsorbed appreciably. Proper utilization of the theoretical formulas requires simultaneous measurements of gas pressure and composition as a function of time.
