Abstract

A new technology of machine yarn for suit fabrics with a homespun surface and a soft knitted structure with Merino wool 64k tops and polyacrylonitrile fibers inserted into the mixture has been developed under the conditions of the textile firm “Kupavna.” Using analytical methods for designing yarn, theoretical calculations are performed of the strength of machine yarn developed from tops ribbon, Merino wool, and polyacrylonitrile fibers. The combing process is optimized; the optimal sizes of the feed and sorting zones are determined, thereby making it possible to reduce by 11.5% the content of fibers shorter than 50 mm.
