Abstract

The present study aimed to investigate the switching mechanism in an all-optical Sagnac interferometer by a nonlinear photonic crystal. In addition, the switching specifications of this design for input pulses were evaluated. The nonlinear Kerr effect is considered in all-optical Sagnac interference switch. The effect of control pulse intensity on the performance of all-optical Sagnac interference switch was introduced. The simulation results indicated that the all-optical switch with photonic crystal-based Sagnac interference structure shows the best performance for specific values of control pulse intensity.
