Abstract

Selecting teaching content that meets the requirements of learning outcomes in the education curriculum is one of the teachers’ crucial tasks. In the Vietnamese general education curriculum in Mathematics, most of the lesson’s learning outcomes are related to the students’ competence in application of mathematical knowledge and skills in their real life. In this paper, we propose two types of realistic maths problems, which are built on the basis of existing realistic maths problems or based on mathematical models. The design process and examples in teaching Mathematics problems to students in the last grade of lower secondary school in Vietnam are presented.
