Abstract
We have synthesized an efficient NiS anchored graphene nanosheet (GNS) with integrated PAni nanocomposites as a counter electrode (CE) material as an alternative to platinum (Pt) CE in DSSCs. The morphology was characterized using scanning and transmission electron microscopy. FTIR absorption spectra reveal the formation of nanocomposites. The electrochemical activity of NiS/GNS/PAni nanocomposites was studied using cyclic voltammetry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The optimum conversion efficiency of 5.36 % was achieved using NiS/GNS(1 %)/PAni as CE which is closely comparable to Pt CE. NiS/GNS/PAni based CE can be used to fabricate Pt free low cost DSSCs.
