Abstract

This paper presents a new design of RFID tag antenna attached to a glass bottle by using the meander technique and a paper substrate operating in the UHF RFID band. The proposed design is divided into two parts. The first part is about designing a tag antenna simulated by using CST and HFSS 3D electromagnetic simulators; the second part is about designing a whole system containing a bottle attached to the proposed tag antenna simulated using CST simulation software. The simulated results obtained for both the tag antenna and the whole system present good performances in terms of reflection coefficient, radiation diagram and read range. Finally, Due to the simulated results, the proposed RFID tag antenna is characterized by Low cost, good read range (5.17m) and the use of a paper substrate ready to be attached to a glass bottle which can be identified and tracked by a RFID reader.
