Abstract
Various organisations have established institutional digital repositories to preserve important documents and provide digital library and information services. Installing software and uploading files is only one aspect of creating a digital library; it is necessary to include metadata based on a standard metadata schema. This article presents techniques that are examined based on various digital library software applications. The focus of this paper is on different search techniques, such as text search, advanced search, and quick search. For fast data entry, the Gems script was utilized in metadata design. For convenient searching of digital library materials, it completely supports metadata indexing and browsing classifiers. The process of metadata creation and the geographic search mechanisms is important in institutional repositories. These two tasks have been completed utilizing Greenstone for metadata development and DSpace's quick map for geographic search mechanisms.
