Abstract

The study reports practically important and interesting results on designing dispersive mirrors (DMs) operating in the mid-infrared spectral range from 3 to 18µm. The admissible domains of the most important design specifications, the mirror bandwidth and group delay variation, were constructed. Estimations of the required total coating thickness, thickness of the thickest layer, and expected number of layers are obtained. The results are confirmed by an analysis of several hundreds of DM design solutions.
