Abstract

This paper presents design and development of Virtual lab (V-lab) for Measurement of ABCD parameters of a medium length transmission line experiment wherein the student gets an opportunity to select appropriate components, enter values for the same and model the medium length transmission line precisely for hardware-based laboratory setup. This experiment involves recall and visualising skill of previously learnt concepts in Classroom. The student calculates ABCD parameters and submits the theoretically calculated values in the simulator. As results of experiment are predictable, student performs the experiment and obtain the expected results. At the end of the experimentation, the student will be able to validate the ABCD parameters with simulator and recognizes the importance of the scale-down model of medium length transmission line for hardware-based laboratory setup. The student also perceives the constraints challenged by hardware-based laboratory setup.
