Abstract

In current study, thermal insulated tiles are prepared by using removal of oldest dead cells of vermiculite as a filler material because of its low bulk density high refractoriness, low thermal conductivity and adequate chemical inertness. Basically, The ordinary Portland cement having 43 grade was utilised as a coupling material for utilization of vermiculite. Paper directly focuses on A mixture of various materials were prepared by utilizing dissimilar percentage of vermiculite and water cement ratio. To gain required consistency, multiple polymer admixture like super plasticizer and SBR latex (i.e. 1% weight of cement) was added in the blends to extent of 0.15 polymer cement ratio. In light of the different tests outcomes, a best mixture was worked out for the vermiculite cement tiles based on various factors like wet capacity of vermiculite surface and its amount, vermiculite cement proportion and polymer cement percentage. The designed vermiculite cement tiles demonstrates least water assimilation, upgraded strength properties and low thermal conductivity in comparison with previously used earth tiles which were used for thermal insulation purpose.
