Designing an enterprise architecture (EA) based on TOGAF ADM and MIPI

Abstract

The alignment of business strategy with IT strategy is a way to embody the benefits of IT in order to support business organization. The organization can utilize EA to define business architecture, data architecture, application architecture, and technology architecture by developing business model, business strategy, and business process which are aligned with the infrastructure of IT organization. With the development of technology, the organization only focuses on the needs of IT infrastructure without noticing the process of sustainable business which supports organization business strategy so that the level of alignment between business strategy and IT strategy is difficult enough to be achieved. Planning and designing EA framework use a collaboration of TOGAF ADM as EA framework and MIPI as another framework to improve business process in an organization. This research presents the case study on the Development and Empowerment of Educators and Educational Staff in Machinery Field and Industrial Engineering (P4TK BMTI). The result of this research is that EA design document is defined well and documented. By using the valuation of EA score card, the result is 71.21% which means that EA design is on Clear level.
