Abstract

In this research, the amount of solar radiation and its effect on domestic buildings of Ahvaz (the center of Khuzestan province) has been studied. To this end, we establish a model (dimension:), which has some pipes (Diameter: 1.375 Inch, Copper) on the outer surface of the roof, acting as a radiator. To absorb maximum amount of energy and being able to use the system in various latitudes, we set pipes on a movable roof. The mechanism of the model is based on air circulation. The airflow is sent into pipes by a small fan; Air current warms up by radiation and this warmed air which is sent inside of the sample at the end of pipes. In order to achieve maximum efficiency, first, we create the conditions to pump air by fan from the lower part of the structure, secondly, pipes are covered by 6 mm glass box; with action of glasses, we can also use the greenhouse effect and use black color for more absorption. In different days, temperature changes are recorded and plotted in diagrams. In the best conditions, we could be able to record the increase of 16°C between inside and outside temperature after four consecutive hour’s period in various days. Key words: Solar energy, heating usage.
