Abstract

Globally, design thinking in E-commerce has captured the attention of business, small and medium enterprises, government officials, academics, and the greater public. It advanced convenience to the customers in purchasing products and services. It also created new opportunities and challenges for all stakeholders in delivering products and services to the customers. As increasingly products and services sold over the Internet, it becomes all the more important to build up knowledge of design thinking in e-commerce. Also, to sustain in the competitive market, the process of planning e-commerce should involve integrated perspectives of strategic management, information system, and entrepreneurship. This study discusses the Design Thinking approach in planning e-commerce from multi-perspective. It illustrated the application of design thinking through stakeholder mapping, service blueprint, data flow, and wireframe techniques in planning e-commerce with the practical case of domestic plumbing services. This study would act as guidelines for service providers, designers, developers, and project managers for implementing e-commerce business models. It would finally contribute to design for development.
