Abstract

A comparative study between simulation, theoretical analysis and experimental techniques of the design and characteristics of second order Butterworth and Chebyshev active filters, based on operational amplifiers of the type LM 3900 was investigated. For the low‐ and high‐pass active filters, the design procedures were carried out depending on their pass band gain and corner frequency, while for band‐pass ones, the design procedure depends on maximum gain and center frequency. The experimental results, computer simulation and theoretical calculations for the proposed filter circuits are shown to be in excellent agreement.
