Abstract

Use of Pulse Power Generators with high voltage magnitudes and low-rise times is prominent in industries such as medicine and laser where high technological requirements are needed. The compact design of these generators and the ability for an adjustable rise time of their output is important due to the necessities of these equipment. Accordingly, this paper addresses the compact design of pulse generators in respect to the avalanche breakdown phenomenon in Bipolar Junction Transistors (BJT) while also addressing the effects of different variables in the circuit design of these generators in the environment of the PSpice simulation software. For this purpose, a model circuit was designed and built while a comparison between the outputs from the built model and the outputs of the simulation study was performed in order to ascertain the results.
