Abstract

A feasibility study will be carried out for synchrotron radiation (SR) experiments using the Tristan Main Ring (MR) as a superbrilliant x-ray source in the autumn of 1995. A test beamline BL-BW-TL is under construction for that purpose. It is a very long x-ray undulator beamline designed for superbrilliant radiation in the x-ray region with high heat load. The SR experimental station is located 4.5 m lower than the MR. The beam path line is kicked down to the SR experimental station by a double crystal monochromator. The first crystal of the monochromator is cooled by liquid nitrogen in order to prevent the SR beam from deteriorating.
