Abstract
A wideband frequency selective absorber (FSA) is proposed and designed based on multilayer structures under multimode resonances. Firstly, a three-layered absorber and a three-layered frequency selective surface (FSS) are proposed and analyzed respectively with the aide of the corresponding equivalent circuit models. Then, the two structures are assembled to construct the proposed FSA. The resultant FSA produce a wide and high-selective passband within a wide absorption band. The thickness of the FSA is only approximately 0.083 λL at the lowest operating frequencies and the operating bandwidth is 129.6%. To demonstrate this approach, a prototype of the proposed FSA was fabricated and tested, and reasonable agreement between the simulation results and experimental data was obtained.
