Abstract

A two-dimensional (2D) finite open cloak for thermodynamics with an arbitrary cross-section is designed based on the transformation thermodynamics. The open cloak consists of a portion of a finite closed cloak and an independent system whose position and parameters can be controlled. The temperature of the cloaked object will be sharply lower than that in the closed cloak when the window is located at the side of low-temperature. However, the situation will be totally opposite when the window is located at the side of high-temperature. Full wave simulations show good agreement with the analytical results of this cloak.
