Abstract

This paper presents an analysis of triple swirler design essentials. UG software is used to establish the geometry model of the model combustor with a triple swirler. The grid calculation model is generated using tetrahedral unstructured meshing method. Through Realizable k—e turbulent model, cold flow field of this model combustor is simulated. The results of simulation indicate that compared with other key parameters, air-flow distribution of the triple swirler has a great effect on the flow field characteristics such as the range of recirculation zone and center-line velocity distribution. The work is helpful for a better understanding of triple swirler parameters and for optimizing design of triple swirler.
