Abstract

The Michelson interferometer, an important component in interferometric atmospheric sounders, determines the spectral resolution of sounders due to its performance properties. The present study puts forward a method of two-beam interference in oscillating scanning for atmospheric sounding. To improve the environmental adaptability of the interferometer, this method uses the symmetry of oscillating moving mirrors, constructed a prototype of an oscillating interferometer, designed an interference signal processing unit and analyzed major function modules of the signal processing unit. Results have theoretically validated the implementation of the oscillating interferometer through laser interference experiments.
