Abstract

Arc fault detection device (AFDD) can effectively identify the arc fault signal in the line and make protection actions, which greatly reduces the occurrence of electrical fires. In order to improve the production efficiency and delivery quality of AFDD products, it is necessary to provide a reliable test system. Therefore, an AFDD test system is proposed in this paper. Using the conduction characteristics of the triac to generate the current zero-break phenomenon. A broadband high-frequency class E power amplifier with a designed operating bandwidth of 8MHz-14Mhz is used to amplify high-frequency signals. The current zero rest signal and high-frequency signal are coupled by high-frequency magnetic ring to reconstruct the signal. It simulates line arc current characteristics to test AFDD operating characteristics. The experimental results show that the test system can effectively detect AFDD. The test system has low cost, high reliability and good repeatability, which lays a good foundation for the quality inspection of production lines and portable AFDD products.
