Abstract
A blind person faces many problems in day-to-day life whether it is outdoors or indoors. A normal stick is inefficient in many aspects. In the view of helping blind people a smart stick is designed. This paper proposes a modification to traditional sticks by using ultrasonic sensor, buzzer and vibration motor for obstacle detection and alert the individual for his safety. GPS and GSM module will be used in this stick to navigate the location of blind person during any emergency. In addition, Remote control RF wireless home automation has also been added. This paper discusses about the design and working of the proposed smart stick.
