Abstract

Most of the mobile and wireless embedded application requires an efficient antenna for embedded communication. In such cases a microstrip patch antenna is the best one because of its better physical properties. In this paper design of slotted rectangular microstrip patch antenna operated in 2.48 ism band is explained. The antenna was designed for different height of RT-Duroid substrate. Since RT-Duroid substrate has the lowest dielectric constant which is suitable for microstrip antenna design, it can effectively reduce the dielectric losses associated with the antenna. The design of the RMSA with 4 mm, 3mm and 2 mm height of the substrate and plots are obtained for return loss, directivity and gain is also included in this paper. The antenna that builds on RT-Duroid substrate has better gain, directivity and return loss but reduced bandwidth. Inset feeding scheme is used as feeding technique. Different slots are cut on the patch in order to obtain the optimal design.
