Abstract

This paper presents a systematic approach to determine the switching surface in an equivalent pole placement control applied to multivariable systems. This scheme can be applied to both minimum-phase and non-minimum-phase systems. The closed-loop eigenvalues of the control system in the sliding mode can be arbitrarily assigned with considerable freedom. An example is carried out to show the effectiveness of the proposed method.
